TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Franklin College improved to 15-3 with a strong offensive performance in a doubleheader sweep over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Thursday afternoon.
In the opener, Franklin relied on an eight-hit attack to top Rose-Hulman 7-1. Natalie Weber three hits and drove home four runs, and Alexis Tarver had a home run to lead the Franklin offense.
For Rose-Hulman, Cydney Ogan led the offensive effort with a bases loaded single. Jessica Will added a single and one RBI, and Jenny Miller contributed a double to the Fightin' Engineer performance.
In the nightcap, Franklin scored six runs in the final inning to secure a 12-3 win. Tarver and Danielle Wyse led the Franklin offense with home runs.
The Rose-Hulman offense featured two RBIs and a single from Gabbi Markison and a double with one run scored by Miller.
Franklin improved to 15-3 and 2-0 in league play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 5-9 and 0-2. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at home on Saturday against Transylvania at 1 pm.
