TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Rose-Hulman battled HCAC-leading Transylvania Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Softball Field. The Fightin' Engineers dropped both games against the Pioneers
Game 1 - Transylvania 4, Rose-Hulman 0
Rose-Hulman ran into tough pitching in game one of Saturday's doubleheader. The Pioneers entered the weekend with a team ERA of 0.88. Rose-Hulman managed four hits and were held scoreless by Transy's Ranae Morton.
Maddie Struble went 3-3 at the plate to lead Rose-Hulman.
Alexis Price had the other RHIT base hit.
Michelle Korf had a solid day pitching for Rose; she scattered four runs and seven hits while striking out a pair.
Game 2 - Transylvania 7, Rose-Hulman 1
Strong pitching from Transylvania again was the theme in the second game of the afternoon. Rose-Hulman was limited to one run on three hits
Alexis Price hit a sacrifice fly to right that scored
Jenny Miller. Miller went 1-3 at the plate.
Maddie Struble went 1-3 and
Jene Williams went 1-2 for Rose.
RHIT fell to 5-11, 0-4 HCAC while Transy moved to 20-4, 6-0 HCAC. The Fightin' Engineers will be back in action on Wednesday April 11 at 5:30 p.m. Rose will host Hanover College in another HCAC doubleheader.
