TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's basketball team fell short on the road against HCAC competitor Hanover College with a final score of 65-62.  This drops the Engineers to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the HCAC so far this season. 

Ally Bromenschenkel led the Engineers offensively finishing the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and tied her career high with 5 blocks.  Debie Gedeon was the team's second leading scorer with 12 points and 7 rebounds.  Taylor Graham was also able to reach double figures in scoring, finishing the game with 10 points.   

Other offensive contributors included Kayla Gerken with 9 points and Abby Bromenschenkel with 8 points.  

In a battle for control of the HCAC the Engineers found themselves in a tough matchup against the Panthers.  At the end of the first quarter the Panthers were able to establish a seven point lead with the score at 15-8.

In the second quarter the Engineers would cut the lead to as low as four points at the three minute mark with the score at 21-25.  Hanover would stand ahead 34-25 as the game headed to halftime.  Gedeon was the team's leading scorer at the half with 8 points.  

Rose-Hulman came out of the locker room determined to decrease the deficit.  They were able to outscore the Panthers 18-13 in the third quarter to decrease the lead to just four points heading into the final quarter of play.  

The Engineers would grab the lead after two made free throws from Abby Bromenschenkel to put the score at 59-58 with 1:48 left in the game.  Hanover would retake the lead with a layup in the final minute of regulation to make the score 60-59.  After a missed three point attempt and a turnover by the Engineers, The Panthers were able to come away with the victory with a final score of 65-62.

The Engineers drop to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the HCAC as their 38 game winning streak against conference opponents was snapped.  Rose-Hulman will return to action this Saturday, 1/5 as they take on the Earlham Quakers at 2:00 PM.
