Engineers Women's Basketball Defeats the Quakers

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's basketball team was able to defeat the Earlham Quakers with a final score of 59-44 on Saturday.  This win improves the Engineers to 8-5 overall and 5-1 in the HCAC. 

Ally Bromenschenkel led the team in scoring finishing with a double-double recording 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Abby Bromenschenkel was also able to reach double-digits with 13 points, 3 blocks, and 2 steals.  Jenna Queary was also able to make an impact scoring a season high 7 points off the bench.  

Other offensive contributors included Debie Gedeon and Morgan Brown with 6 points each.  

Rose-Hulman was able to get a quick start on the Quakers beginning the game with a 6-0 run to establish a lead.  The Engineers were able to maintain their lead finishing the first quarter ahead 18-8.

In the second quarter, Ally Bromenschenkel was able to step up for the Engineers. She was able to score 8 points in the quarter to help the team stand ahead 32-16 as the game headed to halftime.  Ally Bromenschenkel was the team's leading scorer in the first half with 12 points.

The Engineers continued to control the tempo in the second half.  They would hold the lead 39-24 heading into the final quarter of play.  Rose-Hulman would ultimately come away with the win defeating the Quakers with a final score of 59-44.

The Engineers stand at 8-5 overall and 5-1 in the HCAC.  Rose-Hulman will return to action on Wednesday, 1/9 as they host the Franklin Grizzlies at 7:30 PM.
