RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team scored two first-half goals and relied on a strong defensive effort to top Earlham College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Takezo Kelly opened the scoring with a goal in the 17th minute, courtesy of a pass from Eric Kirby. The lead reached 2-0 at the half on a score by Wyatt McKibbon in the 43rd minute.
The final score came in the 74th minute, as Jayden Hendrix found the back of the net on a pass from Chris Fusaro. Pascal Schlee picked up the win and shutout in goal as the Fightin' Engineers outshot Earlham 19-2 in the contest.
Kelly and Fusaro led the balanced Rose-Hulman attack with three shots each.
Rose-Hulman improved to 11-3 overall and 4-1 in league play, while Earlham dropped to 2-10-2 and 1-4. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Franklin College on Wednesday night.
