TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team is headed to Chicago to face the Augsburg Auggies in the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Central Time.

Rose-Hulman stands 15-4-1 entering the NCAA Tournament, while Augsburg has a 14-3-2 mark.  The Auggies are receiving votes in the current United Soccer Coaches weekly Top 25 poll.  The Fightin' Engineers earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament by virtue of their 1-0 win over Hanover College in the HCAC Tournament Championship Game on Saturday.

The Fightin' Engineers are led offensively by Jessica Wells, who paced the HCAC in goals, assists and points this season.  She scored 16 goals, ranks No. 9 in NCAA Division III with 15 assists and set a Rose-Hulman single-season school record with 47 points.

The balanced attack also features four other players with double-figure points this season.  Lane Lawrence has 16 points (seven goals, two assists), Elle Vuotto has 12 points (three goals, six assists), Maggie Sheerin has 11 points (five goals, one assist) and Maddy Twetten has 10 points (four goals, two assists) for the Fightin' Engineers.

Defensive has been a key to the Rose-Hulman success this season.  Katie Demert leads the goaltending performance with a 13-4-1 record and has been part of all 11 team shutouts this season.  She has a .789 save percentage and just a 1.12 goals against average.

Other starters of 13 or more games in the Engineer lineup that have contributed to the defensive effort include senior Kristin East; sophomore Veronica Gawarecki; sophomore Christina Rogers; and freshman Grace Hobson.

The Rose-Hulman soccer team will also seek to be Rose-Hulman's first women's athletic team to advance in an NCAA Division III Tournament.

Rose-Hulman will compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in program history this weekend.  The Fightin' Engineers first appeared in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2007.
