Men's Basketball Suffers Road Loss to Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's basketball team suffered a tough road loss to the Anderson Ravens Wednesday night with a final score of 72-62.  This loss drops the Engineers to 16-8 overall and 12-5 in the HCAC.  

Craig McGee was the team's leading scorer with 14 points and 6 assists.  John Czarnecki was also able to reach double-digits with 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Jacob Back was able to make an impact with 9 points and 4 rebounds coming off the bench.  Other offensive contributors included Michael Lake and Charlie Aimone scoring 7 points each on the night.

The game proved to be a highly competitive contest with the score remaining close throughout the entire game.  The Engineers were able to jump out to a lead in the first four minutes to build an 11 point cushion with the score at 15-4.  Anderson would fight back to decrease the deficit to just four points.  Rose-Hulman would stand ahead 40-36 as the game headed to halftime.  McGee was the team's leading scorer with 10 points in the first half.  

Anderson was able to tie the score 42-42 at the 15 minute mark.  Both teams remained aggressive as they traded the lead back and forth throughout the second half. The Ravens were able to put together a strong finish with a 13-2 run in the final minutes to defeat the Engineers with a final score of 72-62.

The Engineers stand at 16-8 overall and 12-5 in the HCAC and are still tied for second place in the conference with Transylvania University.  They will return to competition on Saturday, 2/16 as they host Manchester University on Senior Day at 4:00 PM.
