SCHAUMBURG, IL --Matthew Rouse struck out seven Dominican (IL) hitters over five innings of work to help lead the Rose-Hulman Engineers past the Stars 5-2 on Thursday.
In addition to his seven strikeouts, Rouse (2-0) threw five shutout innings while giving up two hits and walking two for Rose-Hulman (15-8). Jacob Petrisko also made an impact on the mound for the Engineers, throwing two scoreless innings while allowing one hit.
In the batter's box, the Engineers were led by Logan Cody, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double and two RBIs. Davis Robeson put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-4. Harris Camp also contributed for Rose-Hulman, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
