CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- Wabash College relied on a consistent offensive to earn an 11-3 and 12-10 doubleheader sweep over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in college baseball action on Sunday afternoon.
In the opener, Wabash scored six times in the seventh inning to turn a 5-3 lead into an 11-3 victory. Andrew Jumonville had three hits with two doubles, and Jared Wolfe had three hits to lead the Wabash offense.
For Rose-Hulman, Davis Robeson led the offense with two singles and two runs scored. David Burnside added a double and an RBI, and Brett Tuttle contributed a single and an RBI to the Fightin' Engineer effort.
In the nightcap, Rose-Hulman led 8-7 in the eighth before Wabash scored five times to take the lead. The Fightin' Engineers battled back with two ninth-inning runs and put the tying run at the plate before Wabash recorded the final out.
Jackson Blevins led the Little Giants with a home run among his three hits and four RBIs.
Luke Calabrese led the Rose-Hulman offense with three singles, one run scored and two RBIs. Burnside added two more hits, including a double, with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Tuttle, Logan Cody and Luke Kluemper recorded two singles and scored once each. Ryan Stachowski pitched in with a double and scored two runs.
Wabash improved to 13-11 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 12-8. The Fightin' Engineers return to HCAC action on Tuesday with a doubleheader at Earlham.
