TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team opens the 2019 season at home against St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Friday at 6 p.m.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:
* The Fightin' Engineers are coming off a 10-8 season and finished above .500 in conference play for the seventh straight year in 2018.
* Jessica Wells enters the 2019 season ranked No. 6 in Rose-Hulman history with 28 career goals and is No. 7 all-time with 70 career points.
* Wells is a three-time first-team all-HCAC selection and was chosen third-team all-Great Lakes Region in 2018
* Other upperclass leading returning scorers include senior Maddy Twetten with four goals, four assists, and 12 points; and junior Elle Ogden with four goals, four assists, and 12 points.
* Goalkeeper Katie Demert led the Engineer defensive effort in 2018 with 65 saves, 0.93 GAA, and .802 save percentage.
* The freshman class includes eight players from five states.
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with St. Mary-of-the-Woods 15-1-1 and has won the last three meetings in the series.

* St. Mary-of-the-Woods lost 2-1 in its season opener at Brescia last Saturday. Alexis Pflum scored the goal, and Megan Benefiel had nine saves in net for SMWC.
* Pflum led the team with seven goals last season.
