TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team opens the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule at Defiance College on Saturday.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes

* Rose-Hulman stands 2-1 on the season.  The Fightin' Engineers have wins over Millikin and Greenville, along with a loss to IU-Kokomo.
* Fanny-Jane Banda, Naomi Bhagat, Kyla Jarvis and Breanna Rogers are each 2-1 on the season in singles play.
* Bhagat (41-14) and Banda (27-5) have made their mark in the Rose-Hulman singles record book.  Bhagat is No. 3 in career singles wins (41) and Banda is No. 1 in singles winning percentage (.844).
* The doubles team of Bhagat and Rogers - along with Jarvis and Krista Manche - are 2-1 so far this season.
* After Saturday's action, Rose-Hulman hosts Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday night.

The Opposition

* Defiance stands 1-2 on the season with a 6-3 win over Lourdes on Sept. 4.
* Sydney Hutson leads the team with a 2-1 record at the No. 4 singles flight.
