GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won a combined 10 events to highlight a competitive swimming and diving meet at DePauw University on Friday night.
The DePauw men narrowly topped Rose-Hulman 131-130 in the team scoring, while the DePauw women picked up a 179-58 win.
The men's performance was led by two individuals with two wins each.  Jared Brown won the 50-freesyle (21.95) and 100-freestyle (48.07) events and Ethan Park swept the 100-breaststroke (1:02.41) and 200-breaststroke (2:15.72) events.
Other men's individual winners included William Kemp in the 200-individual medley (2:02.04) and Derick Miller in the 100-butterfly (52.36).
The Rose-Hulman women swept both diving event wins to lead the team effort.  Michelle Reese won the 1-meter competition (243.55) and Michaela Kivett picked up the 3-meter victory (201.50).
Rose-Hulman's men captured the 400-freestyle win behind the effort of Brendan King, Dutch Kipp, Alex Ketcham and Brown (3:14.71). The women's squad received top points behind the performance of Elisa Weber, Parker Brady, Brooke Covert and Arya Ziegler (4:08.18).
The Fightin' Engineers open the 2019-20 home season on Saturday, hosting Illinois Wesleyan at noon Eastern Time in a meet that has been moved one hour due to projected weather.
