Rose-Hulman Men's Swim-Dive Secures Sixth Straight HCAC Title

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's swimming & diving team claimed their sixth consecutive HCAC championship with a first-place finish at the conference meet this weekend. 

The Fightin' Engineers finished the championship weekend with 10 event wins and 25 top-three finishes. 

Trevor Wiley was named the HCAC Co-Swimmer of the Meet. He finished the week with three individual event wins in the 200 IM, 400 IM, and the 200 butterfly. He was also a member of the first-place finishing 400 medley relay team and the second-place finishing 800 freestyle relay. 

Parker Siddons was named the HCAC Diver of the Year for the second year in a row. He won the 3-meter diving and placed second in the 1-meter competition behind teammate Andrew Geiger

Keith Crawford was named the HCAC Men's Coach of the Year for his outstanding leadership. This is Crawford's fifth coach of the year award of his career. Crawford previously won HCAC Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2020. He was also awarded CCIW Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2016. 

The team started the first day of competition with an event win by Siddons in the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 332.60. 

The Fightin' Engineers wrapped up day one with a runner-up finish in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:00.35. 

The team continued their success on day two of the championships. Wiley earned an event win in the 200 IM with a time of 1:53.04. Rose-Hulman was also named an event champion in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:25.66. 

Walter Kotlin was another medalist with a runner-up finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.24. The 200 freestyle relay team also earned a top-three finish, placing second with a time of 1:24.79.

Rose-Hulman totaled four more podium finishes on the second day of competition in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, and two student-athletes in the 50 freestyle. 

On day three, the team improved to first place in the standings, earning four event wins. Andrew Geiger won 1-meter diving with a score of 359.75, just beating out teammate Parker Siddons, who recorded a 359.30 score.

Eric Sinclair recorded a win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 55.57, while Wiley won the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.89.

Ethan Moen, Carter Kirtz, JJ Leto, and Kotlin added the final win of the day, which came in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.38.

The Fightin' Engineers added seven more medalists and a total of 17 podium finishes on day three.

The team finished strong on the final day of the competition, recording eight top-three finishes and 17 total podium placements. 

The team's three event wins came from Wiley in the 200 butterfly (1:52.16), Sinclair in the 200 breaststroke (2:03.04), and the 400 freestyle relay team (3:07.75). 

The Fightin' Engineers had two second-place finishes on the final day, including Kirtz in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.83) and Moen in the 200 backstroke (1:55.48).

Other medalists included three third-place finishers. Third-place finishers included Tommaso Calviello in the 200 backstroke (1:56.02), Levi Galiviz in the 100 freestyle (47.11), and Ethan Crane in the 200 butterfly (1:55.77).

The team's first-place finish in the HCAC Championships is the sixth in a row for the Fightin' Engineers, dating back to the 2020-21 season.

All-HCAC honorees are decided based on finish. First Team is the 1st-place finishers, Second Team is the 2nd-place finishers, and Third Team is the 3rd-place finishers. The top seven student-athletes who compete in A-finals in each event earn a spot on the podium.
