Tommaso Calviello has been named to the Academic All-American Second Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The senior biomedical engineering and data science double major has achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during his time at Rose-Hulman.
Calviello played a key role in Rose-Hulman winning their sixth consecutive HCAC Championship as he posted five top-three finishes. Calviello was a part of the 400 freestyle relay team that finished in first place (3:07.75) and the 800 freestyle relay team that took second place (7:00.35).
The Milan, Italy native added three third-place finishes at the HCAC Championships in the 200 freestyle (1:44.34), 100 backstroke (53.10), and 200 backstroke (1:56.02).
Calviello is now the 154
th student-athlete and the ninth men's swimmer in Rose-Hulman history to achieve Academic All-American honors. The Fightin' Engineers have now extended their streak to 41 consecutive calendar years with at least one Academic All-American.
