W-Basketball Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Game Saturday at 3:30

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman will host its annual women's basketball Breast Cancer Awareness Game with a special start time of 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Bluffton University will face the Fightin' Engineers in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

Breast Cancer Awareness Game:

* A ceremony with more than 40 Wabash Valley breast cancer survivors will take place at 2:45 p.m. between games of the doubleheader.
* The ceremony will honor area survivors with all money raised from T-shirts, cotton candy sales, and other donations will go directly to the Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors Organization.
* Last year, the event raised nearly $1,500 bringing the historical total to more than $15,000 raised.
* The game marks the 13th annual game in which the women's basketball program has raised funds and awareness for breast cancer.
* The issue hits close to home for the Rose-Hulman women's head coach, Jon Prevo, who is a cancer survivor himself. Prevo's wife, Deanna, also defeated cancer over a decade ago.
* T-shirts will be on sale at the game for $12 each, and all the proceeds from the gate will also be donated to Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors Organization.
* The funds will be presented by the team's upperclassmen at an upcoming group meeting.

Rose-Hulman (2-14, 1-8 HCAC) News and Notes:

Nosa Igiehon is ranked No. 2 in the HCAC in rebounds (8.4 rpg) and No. 5 in field goal percentage (48.1%).
* Hannah Woody and Igiehon are the team's leading scorers at 9.5 points per game each.
* Woody had a career-high six assists in Wednesday's loss to Franklin and leads the team with 43 assists.
* Desirae Webster paces the team with 24 steals this season.
* Rose-Hulman ranks No. 3 in the HCAC in scoring defense, allowing just 59.7 points per game.
* After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman travels to Manchester University on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

Bluffton (8-8, 4-5 HCAC) News & Notes:

* Bluffton has lost two straight games since earning a 70-65 win over Earlham on Jan. 15.
* Brianna Gillig leads Bluffton in scoring at 17.3 points per game.
* Tj Mills is also a double figure scorer for Bluffton at 11.6 points per contest.
