Early Start Leads Hanover Past Engineer Women's Basketball

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Hanover College used a strong start and solid defense to pick up a 67-48 women's basketball victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hulbert Arena.

Hanover scored the game's first 11 points, before the Fightin' Engineers closed within three points at 14-11 on an 11-3 run.  Hanover relied on its defense to pull away to a 36-20 halftime lead and maintain a double-digit advantage in the second half.

Katie Hartman led Hanover with 19 points, and Alexis Nall added 10 points.  Brooke Todd contributed 11 assists for the Panthers.

Nola Wilson paced the Rose-Hulman offense with 13 points.  Nosa Igiehon recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Hannah Woody joined Jordan Barlow with six points each for the Fightin' Engineers.  Desirae Webster added four assists in the contest.

Hanover improved to 5-5 and 4-0 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman stands 0-4 in league games.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Wednesday at Earlham College.
