MEET RESULTS
VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won 13 events to pick up a season opening 186-85 victory over Valparaiso University in NCAA swimming action on Friday night at Valparaiso High School.
Jared Brown,
Brendan King and
Derick Miller led the Fightin' Engineers performance with two individual wins each. Brown won the 50-freestyle (21.72) and 50-butterfly (23.77), King swept the 200-freestyle (1:48.15) and 500-freestyle (4:50.82), and Miller captured the 100-breaststroke (1:00.24) and 100-butterfly (52.60).
Other individual winners included
Colby Horne in 1-meter diving (110.50 points);
Dutch Kipp in the 100-backstroke (55.80); Ryan Nickolic in the 50-backstroke (25.89);
Evan Sellers in the 1000-freestyle (10:13.00); and
Lane Wagner in the 200-individual medley (2:04.85).
The Fightin' Engineers also swept both relay events on the evening. The 200-medley team of
Ethan Park, Miller, Brown and Kipp won in 1:37.33. The 400-freestyle team of Miller, King,
Tyler Sommer and Brown won in 3:14.51.
Rose-Hulman returns to action on Saturday Jan. 30 with a home matchup against Hanover College.
