MEET RESULTS
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team won 12 events in a dominant performance to top Franklin and Bluffton in the season opening Friday Night Spikes Series Meet at the Sports and Recreation Center.
Tim Youndt led the performance with one track event win and one field event victory. Youndt won the 60-meter hurdles (8.89 seconds) and the triple jump (43' 0 3/4").
Other running event winners included
Jacob Bird in the 400 (55.41 seconds);
Ben Gothard in the 3,000-meter run (9:21.72);
Nolan Gross in the mile (4:31.23);
Stephen Payne in the 200 (23.33);
Will Thesken in the 800 (2:09.34); and
Noah Thomas in the 60 (7.21 seconds).
The Fightin' Engineers also won two other field events, with
Jacob Eve taking top honors in the high jump (6' 0 3/4") and
Hunter Crumly winning the shot put (41' 7").
Rose-Hulman also swept the 4-x-200 and 4-x-400 meter relay events. Payne,
Dawson Allen, Bird and Thomas won the 4-x-200 meters in 1:34.94.Â
Tim Wilson,
Tyler Speitel, Thesken and
Noah Heckenlively capped the meet by winning the 4-x-400 in 3:43.51.
The Friday Night Spikes Series continues next weekend when Rose-Hulman returns to the Sports and Recreation Center.
