MEET RESULTS
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won 12 events to easily outdistanced Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes Manchester, Franklin and Mount St. Joseph on Friday night at the Sports and Recreation Center.
The Fightin' Engineers won the Friday Night Spikes Series Meet #2 with eight running event wins and four victories in field events.
Noah Thomas and
Tim Youndt led the Rose-Hulman individual winners with two victories each. Thomas swept the 60-meter (7.21) and 200-meter (23.18) sprinting events, and Youndt won both the 60-hurdles (8.92) and the triple jump (40' 9 1/2").
Other running event winners for Rose-Hulman included
Jacob Bird in the 400 (53.84);
John Sluys in the mile (4:39.95); and
Will Thesken in the 800 (2:06.06).
In field events, winners included
Jacob Eve in the high jump (5' 9 3/4");
Mikey Holtz in the pole vault (12' 5 1/2"); and
Marcus Hughes-Oliver in the long jump (19' 8 1/4").
Rose-Hulman also swept the 4-x-200 and 4-x-400 relay events. The 4-x-200 team of
Stephen Payne,
Dawson Allen, Bird and Thomas won in 1:34.34. The 4-x-400 team of Eve,
Raymond Bates,
Will Thesken and
Tyler Speitel won in 3:37.83.
The Fightin' Engineers continue the Friday Night Spikes Series with Meet #3 of the 2021 season next weekend at the SRC.
