TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer won its fourth-straight match on Wednesday night, defeating Manchester University 5-0. Rose-Hulman improved to 8-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, while Manchester fell to 2-9 and 1-4 in HCAC.
Rose-Hulman opened the first half scoring three times within the first 22 minutes.
Christina Rogers scored in the 10th minute, assisted by
Lane Lawrence. Lawrence then scored a goal on her own in the 21st minute, followed by Rogers scoring her second goal of the game off passes from Lawrence and
Kiley McKee.
Sarah Shoemaker led the second-half charge, scoring the final two goals of the game in the 82nd and 87th minute. Lawrence assisted the first goal, and Rogers assisted the second.
The Fightin' Engineer defensive unit recorded its fourth-straight shutout and eighth total.
Natalie Dillon and Lily Dore both spearheaded the unit, where Dore recorded two saves.
Rose-Hulman returns to HCAC play on Saturday, October 16 at Transylvania University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm.
