TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 3-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer action with a 2-0 victory over Franklin College on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first half, the Fightin' Engineers scored a pair of second half goals.Â
Tatenda Mafa found the back of the net in the 57th minute, courtesy of a crossing pass from
Owen Trudt. The score was the firstÂ
The lead reached 2-0 later in the first half, when
Luke Dawdy scored courtesy of a pass from
Tyler Eldridge.
Mafa and Dawdy both scored their first career goals with tonight's performance.
Rose-Hulman controlled much of the action, outshooting Franklin 17-8 in the match.
Matt Fix led the Rose-Hulman offense with four shots, and Eldridge added three.Â

The Fightin' Engineers improved to 6-4-1 overall and 3-0 in HCAC play, while Franklin dropped to 2-7-1 and 0-2-1 in league games. Rose-Hulman returns to action on Saturday with a home matchup against Defiance College at 3:30 pm.
