CHICAGO, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball fell to North Park University in the North Park Classic 58-48 on Friday night. RHIT fell to 0-2 on the season while North Park improved to 3-1.
Both teams relied on defense in the first half, with NPU holding the lead at the halftime buzzer 23-21.
Jordan Barlow (4 points, 5 rebounds) and
Jamie Baum (4 points, 6 rebounds) were the leaders for RHIT at the break.
The game went back-and-forth to open the second half, but it was North Park that scored eight unanswered points to break the game open at the end of the third quarter that led to the victory.
Barlow led the offense for RHIT with 14 points and eight rebounds. Baum finished close behind Barlow with 10 points and eight rebounds. Combined, the two finished 10-24 from the floor and 4-5 from the foul line.
The rest of the offense for Rose-Hulman was well-balanced.
Rowan Hein finished with five points and five rebounds in her season debut.
Peyton Miller recorded four points and five rebounds.

Rose-Hulman returns to the court tomorrow, November 20 against Elmhurst in their second game of the North Park Classic at 2pm CT.
