SATURDAY MORNING HEAT SHEETÂ
KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team won the three-day Carthage Invitational, held in Wisconsin.
Rose-Hulman scored 2632 points to defeat second-place Carthage (2099), Lake Forest (1542), Saint Norbert and Kalamazoo in the 10-team event.

Rose-Hulman captured first and third places in the 800-yard freestyle relay to bolster the team score.Â
Logan McLaughlin,
Caleb Munger,
Vineet Ranade and
Jared Brown won the event in a time of 6:51.26. The team of
Nick Edwards,
Sam West,
Antonio Ventresca and
Ryan Bowering placed 3rd in 7:01.44.
Evan Sellers added first-place honors in the 1650-freestyle with a time of 16:26.36 to help Rose-Hulman sweep first-place honors in the evening's two events.
FRIDAY RECAP
The Rose-Hulman men won four events and set one school record to highlight Friday action at Carthage.
Vineet Ranade set a new school record in the 200-individual medley to lead the individual performances. Ranade completed the preliminary round in the event with a new record time of 1:52.33.
Ranade also won the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:05.02 to capture one of four first-place finishes for the Engineers.
Other event winners included
Jared Brown in the 100-freestyle (46.09);
Ryan Nikolic in the 100-butterfly (49.90); and
Evan Sellers in the 500-freestyle (4:41.58).
The 200-freestyle and 400-medley relay primary teams added second-place finishes for Rose-Hulman.Â
Justin Roberts, Ranade,
Noah Lockhart and
Tyler Sommer finished the 400-medley relay in 3:27.38, while
Logan McLaughlin, Nikolic, Sommer and Brown finished the 200-freestyle relay in 1:24.08.
Other second-place finishers included
Ryan Bowering in the 200-backstroke (1:54.74) and
John Dinkel in 3-meter diving (360.35 points).
The 200-freestyle B relay team of
Alex Ketcham,
Sam West,
Nick Edwards and
Antonio Ventresca placed third in 1:26.33.
Caleb Munger contributed two fourth-place finishes wth times of 1:56.12 in the 200-backstroke and 4:49.43 in the 500-freestyle.
Fifth-place finishers included Bowering in the 500-freestyle; Brown in the 100-butterfly; Edwards in the 200-individual medley; Ketcham in the 200-breaststroke; and Nikolic in the 100-freestyle.
SATURDAY RECAP
Saturday's events were highlighted by several near-record winning races.Â
The 200-medley relay team finished in first place with a time of 1:32.67. Members of the relay team included
Ryan Nikolic,
Vineet Ranade,
Jared Brown, and
Tyler Sommer. The team was six-tenths off the school record, set in 2021, of 1:32.07.
Ranade was victorious in the 200-free in a time of 1:42.81, which was three seconds away from beating the school record.
Several second and third place finishes on day three propelled the Fightin' Engineers in their win. The 400-free relay team finished in second with a time of 3:05.87, just under two seconds of breaking the school record of 3:03.99 set in 2013.
Brown placed second in the 50-free with a time of 20.87. The school record is 20.50, just under three-tenths away from Brown's time.
Bowering added another second-place finish in the 400-IM with a time of 4:09.72. Similar to his teammates, Bowering was two seconds away from the school record (4:07.60).
In diving,
John Dinkel placed second in the 1-meter diving with a score of 366.83.
Logan McLaughlin and Nikolic finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 100-backstroke. McLaughlin finished with a time of 52.07 and Nikolic with a 52.35. Both swimmers are within two seconds of breaking the school record of 50.53, set in 2018.
Ranade placed third in the 100-breaststroke in a time of 58.95. The school record is 56.20 set in 2003.
