RICHMOND, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on four players scoring in double figures and two players grabbing double-figure rebounds to top Earlham College 75-42 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night.
Jordan Barlow led the offense with 12 points and contributed 7 rebounds.Â
Rowan Hein and
Nola Wilson added 11 points each, and
Ashley Black scored 10 points for the balanced offensive attack.
Jamie Baum added a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with 6 points.Â
Allie Fults pitched in with career-highs of 9 points and 11 rebounds as the Fightin' Engineers used both a perimeter and frontcourt combination to pick up the win.
Other key contributors included
Kahlan Jester with 6 points and 5 assists;
Mira Randolph with 5 points and 3 assists;
Peyton Miller with 2 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists; and
Rose Burnham with 3 points.
Rose-Hulman jumped out to a 23-3 lead after the first quarter and held the Quakers to just 22 percent shooting in the contest. Alexis Gibson led Earlham with 12 points.
The Fightin' Engineers shot 48% for the game and outrebounded Earlham 47-21 in the contest.
Rose-Hulman improved to 3-4 on the season and 1-1 in league play, while Earlham dropped to 0-7 and 0-2 in league games. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at home on Saturday with a 1 pm matchup against Mount St. Joseph.
