TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team completed an undefeated regular season by winning Friday Night Spikes Invitational Meet No. 5 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
The Fightin' Engineers hosted five consecutive meets against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes on consecutive Friday nights, capturing the team scoring wins in each meet. This weekend, Rose-Hulman outdistanced Hanover and Earlham in the team scoring to pick up the victory.
Rose-Hulman won 10 events in the men's competition to capture this week's victory.Â
Jacob Bird,Â
Noah Thomas and
Tim Youndt led the performance with two wins each.Â
Bird won the 200 (23.34 seconds) and 400 (51.73) meter dashes; Thomas claimed the long jump (21' 6") and the 60-meter dash (7.13); and Youndt won both the 60-meter hurdles (8.88) and the triple jump (43' 5").
Other Rose-Hulman winners included
Mikey Holtz in the pole vault (13' 6 3/4");
Josh Krsek in the shot put (43' 2 1/4"); and
Nolan Gross in the 3,000-meter run (8:55.31).
The 4-x-200 meter relay team added the night's final victory in a time of 1:36.45.
Rose-Hulman hosts the HCAC Men's Indoor Championships at the Sports and Recreation Center on Sunday Feb. 21 at 1 pm.
