ANDERSON, Ind. -- Anderson University relied on a strong defensive effort to pick up a 56-43 women's basketball victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Thursday night.
Jordan Barlow led the offense with 20 of the 43 points. Barlow also contributed 6 rebounds for the Fightin' Engineers.
Ashley Black contributed 9 points and
Mira Randolph had 5 points.
Peyton Miller had 3 rebounds.
Desirae Webster,
Ashley Black, and
Rose Burnham each had 2 rebounds.
Barlow was 10-14 from the field and Black went 2-2 at the free-throw line to lead the Engineers.
Rose-Hulman started the game with a 5-0 lead and continued with the lead until the few minutes in the first quarter when Anderson tied the game and took the lead.
Mira Randolph closed the Rose-Hulman deficit to five points at 32-27 early in the second half, before the Ravens answered to secure a double-figure lead and earn the victory.
After tonight's loss Rose-Hulman has an 0-2 record, and Anderson is now 3-3. The Fightin' Engineers' next game is at home on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
