TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's basketball team had a strong first half performance, before Anderson's defense proved the difference in a 54-43 loss to the Ravens on Saturday afternoon.
After a slow start to the game, the women's basketball team found themselves down 10-3 early on. With a pair of jumpers and a trio of layups, the Fightin' Engineers ended the first quarter on an 11-4 run. They built the lead by as many as 11 points in the second quarter, but the Ravens battled and cut the lead to 3 points at the halftime buzzer, 31-28.
The Ravens defense proved too powerful in the second half, holding the Fightin' Engineers to 11 points.Â
Rose Burnham and
Jordan Barlow led the way for Rose-Hulman this afternoon. Burnham finished with 10 points and Barlow with 9 points. Each of them also ended with 8 rebounds and 3 assists, respectively. All but two players that entered the game for Rose-Hulman ended with at least two points.Â
Anderson's Lexi Dellinger led the game with 19 points, and Hannah Hawkins finished with 10 points and a game-high 9 rebounds.
The women's hoops team stands 0-3 and returns to the hardwood next Friday, February 12 at Manchester University. Tip off is slated for 7:30 PM.Â
