Rose-Hulman holds a 7-2 lead entering the ninth inning in game two. The game will either be completed prior to the March 24 trip to Hanover, or will be completed prior to the April 18 home doubleheader between the two teams.
In the opener,
Shaine Mitchell and
Luke Calabrese had two hits each. Mitchell smashed a double and scored twice, while Calabrese had two RBIs.Â
Harris Camp added a single, stolen base and scored two runs.
Matthew Rouse allowed just one earned run in 4.2 innings of work with five strikeouts to lead the Fightin' Engineer pitching performance in game one.
The second game finished eight innings on its originally scheduled day, before the teams completed the ninth inning on March 31.
Jacob Petrisko picked up the complete game victory for the Fightin' Engineers. Petrisko allowed eight hits and two unearned runs with seven strikeouts to pick up the 7-2 victory.
Offensively,
Adam Taylor scored twice and Calabrese drew three walks as individual offensive leaders.Â
Manuel Lopez added a double and two RBIs, and Mitchell joined Tuttle with two RBIs each.
Rose-Hulman stands 2-2 on the season, while Hanover has a 4-2 record. The Fightin' Engineers return to action next Saturday at Bluffton University, then host Earlham on Sunday March 21.
