NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team scored four times in each half to pick up a convincing 8-0 victory at Manchester University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers rotated in 20 players throughout the win, and eight different Rose-Hulman players scored goals to balance the offensive attack.
Lane Lawrence put the Engineers on the board in the 7th minute, courtesy of a pass from
Megan Foder.Â
Mariah Mufich made the score 2-0 on a double assist from Lawrence and
Sarah Shoemaker. The same assist duo combined on the third goal, scored by
Elle Vuotto.
Rose-Hulman's lead reached 4-0 at the half on a score by Foder. Rose-Hulman outshot Manchester 21-0 in the opening 45 minutes.
In the second half,
Endia Clark opened the scoring on an assist from
Tracy Orgera.Â
Kyra Hicks made the score 6-0 on an assist from
Elsa King.
Meghan Garry added the seventh goal of the day on an assist from
Lily Bailey.Â
Kiana Martin rounded out the scoring in the 84th minute on a pass from Vuotto.
Rose-Hulman improved to 5-0 on the season, while Manchester dropped to 0-4. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday with an exhibition game at Anderson that will not feature postgame coverage due to NCAA publicity rules. Rose-Hulman's next conference matchup takes place next Wednesday at Hanover.
