GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on four first-place finishes to come home second at the DePauw University Quad Meet on Saturday in Greencastle.
Wabash College took home top honors, followed by Rose-Hulman, DePauw, Illinois Wesleyan and Hanover in the team scoring.
The Fightin' Engineers won two running and two field events on Saturday.Â
Dawson Allen came home first in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.83 seconds.Â
Jacob Eve won the 400-meter dash in 49.75 seconds.
Field event winners included
Jacob Back to lead a 1-2-3 in the long jump (20' 11 3/4"), and
Tim Youndt in the triple jump (43' 5 1/4").
Runner-up finishers for the men included
Jacob Bird in the 200 (23.36);
Kernan Lee in the long jump (20' 7 3/4");
Isaiah Lilje in the javelin (132' 9"); and
Mikey Holtz (13' 5 1/4").
Third-place results were completed by Back in the 200 (23.56);
Hunter Crumly in the javelin (127' 1");
Nolan Gross in the 3,000-steeplechase (9:54.40);
Parker Jordan in the triple jump (39' 9 1/4"); and Youndt in the long jump (20' 5 3/4").
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Hanover Invitational next weekend.
