ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Game after picking up a 4-1 victory at Anderson University on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, Rose-Hulman completes the HCAC regular season at 8-0-1 and on top of the conference standings. The Fightin' Engineers will host Transylvania University in the HCAC Championship Game. The Pioneers finished the regular season at 8-1.
The HCAC championship game will take place sometime between April 5 and 11. Finalized details will be available later this week.
The two teams battled to a scoreless tie for much of the first half, before
Jackson Seida scored to give Rose-Hulman a 1-0 lead at the half.Â

Eric Kirby provided the assists.
Rose-Hulman pushed its lead to 2-0 on a score by
Brevin Lacy in the 53rd minute, assisted by
Babacar Diatta.
Anderson closed within 2-1 on a score by Drew Vaughn in the 58th minute.
Jacob Dirienzo put the Engineers ahead 3-1 with a 72nd minute goal, courtesy of another assist from Kirby.
Sam Alvares capped the scoring in the 84th minute with an unassisted goal as the Fightin' Engineers capped an unbeaten and once tied round robin schedule against the conference.
Rose-Hulman has won seven HCAC regular season championships and five HCAC Tournaments since 2008 under the direction of head coach
Sean Helliwell. Â
