BLUFFTON, Ohio -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer improved to 2-0 on the season with a win at Bluffton University on Saturday afternoon 5-0. Bluffton fell to 0-2 on the season.
Just under five minutes into the game, senior
Maggie Sheerin scored her first goal of the season from a pass by
Lane Lawrence. By the halftime break, the Fightin' Engineers led the Beavers 3-0 off two additional goals by
Sarah Shoemaker and
Endia Clark.
Elle Vuotto assisted Shoemaker's goal, and
Christina Rogers assisted Clark's goal.
In the second half,
Elle Ogden scored shortly after a corner from
Alexis Juarez, making the score 4-0. The final goal of the afternoon was scored by
Lane Lawrence, assisted by Vuotto. In goal for Rose-Hulman was
Natalie Dillon, who tallied four saves.Â
Goalkeeper Sienna Sullivan for Bluffton recorded five saves.
The women's soccer team returns to action Wednesday, March 10 at home against Franklin College, slated for a 7pm kickoff.
