HANOVER, Ind. -- Hanover College relied on a strong pitching performance to pick up 5-1 and 4-1 victories over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference softball action on Thursday afternoon.
Lily Beurman led the Hanover pitching performance by picking up a complete game win with 11 strikeouts in game one and earning the save in the nightcap.
In the opener,
Angela Boulboulle and
Ashley Pinkham had two hits each to lead the Rose-Hulman offense.Â
Nicole Lang added a single and one RBI.
Mackenzie Hunt led the Rose-Hulman pitching effort with four strikeouts and just one run allowed in 3.1 innings of work.
In the nightcap,
Alexis Fortuna had two hits for the Engineers. Pinkham and Lang added one hit and one walk each.
Hunt had five strikeouts and allowed no earned runs in three innings of work to lead the game two pitching.
Hanover improved to 6-11, and Rose-Hulman fell to 7-12 and 1-3 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday at home against Mount St. Joseph starting at 1 pm.
