TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team completes the weekend by hosting Hanover in a doubleheader at noon on Sunday.

SATURDAY RECAP:
FRANKLIN, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team hit the road on Saturday afternoon and split with Franklin College 4-3 and 12-10. Rose-Hulman moved to 11-9 on the season and Franklin moved to 14-6.
Franklin struck first in the third inning of game one, plating two runs in the bottom of the third inning. Rose-Hulman took the lead in the fifth inning after
Harris Camp,
Brett Tuttle and
Luke Kluemper all reached base safely, then were driven in on a
Logan Cody triple down the left field line. Later in the eighth,
Shaine Mitchell singled and was later drove in on a
Josh Mesenbrink single.
On the hill for the Fightin' Engineers,
Matthew Rouse pitched seven innings while allowing only one earned run on four hits. He earned the pitching win and struck out four.Â
Michael Yager picked up the save by striking out the game's final hitter with the bases loaded as Rose-Hulman held on to its 4-3 margin.
Mesenbrink and Kluemper led the offensive attack for Rose-Hulman, recording three hits and two hits, respectively. Cody finished with three RBI's.
Game two was quite the change from earlier in the afternoon, as the two teams exploded for 22 total runs. Franklin grabbed the lead with a five-run first inning, including with a three-run home run. Rose-Hulman answered in their half of the second inning, scoring three runs to cut the deficit down to two.
In the third inning,
Shane Garner blasted a two-run home run to right field, scoring Cody who singled earlier in the inning.
Rose-Hulman scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning, tying the game at 10-10. In the inning, both
Harris Camp and Cody tripled to highlight the inning. Franklin grabbed the lead in the seventh inning to hang on for the 12-10 win.
Garner hit his second home run of the season, and Cody finished with two hits on the day. Cody, Garner, Mitchell and
Adam Taylor all contributed two RBI's. Colter-Couillard Rodak tacked on another RBI.
The Fightin' Engineers return to action tomorrow, April 18 at home versus Hanover college for an HCAC doubleheader. First pitches are scheduled for 12pm and 3pm.
