FRANKLIN, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team picked up a doubleheader split at Franklin College on Sunday, winning the nightcap 10-5 after falling 11-3 in the opener.
In the nightcap,
Alexis Fortuna paced Rose-Hulman with four hits, including a double, and scored two runs.Â
Nicole Lang added three hits with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Three more Rose-Hulman players had two hits each.Â
Jessica Thuer had a triple, single and a team-high three RBIs.Â
Angela Boulboulle added two hits and scored one run.Â
Jacky Neuman scored once with two singles,
Gabrielle Davidson scored twice, and
Reagan Knabe had two RBIs for the balanced Rose-Hulman offensive performance.
Mackenzie Hunt picked up the pitching win in relief for the Engineers. Hunt allowed just one run in four innings with three strikeouts.
In the opener, Neuman had a bases loaded, three-run triple to propel the Rose-Hulman offense.
Franklin stands 12-8 and 3-3 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman has an 8-15 mark and a 2-6 record in league games. The Fightin' Engineers host Anderson in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday at 5:30 pm.
