TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team compiled 11 top-three finishes to place second at the Fightin' Engineer Twilight Meet on Friday night at Cook Stadium.
Washington University in St. Louis took home top honors in the team scoring, followed by Rose-Hulman. DePauw and Franklin tied for third, with Hanover placing fifth.
Rose-Hulman won two events on the evening.Â
Noah Thomas captured first-place honors in the 100-meter dash (11.02 seconds) and
Tim Youndt won the triple jump (44' 8 3/4").
The Fightin' Engineers had four individual and one relay runner-up finishes. Second-place results were earned by
Jacob Bird in the javelin (135' 9");
Jacob Eve in the 400 (50.24);
Josh Krsek in the shot put (40' 2 3/4");
John Sluys in the 3000 (9:00.31). The 4-x-100 meter relay of
Prescott Brackett,
Rashard Brown,
Jacob Jagger and Thomas added a second place in 43.84 seconds.
Third-place finishers included
Hunter Crumly in the shot put (39' 8"); Eve in the high jump (5' 10 3/4");
Mikey Holtz in the pole vault (13' 0 1/4"); and
Trevor Maynard in the 3,000-steeplechase (10:31.44).
Rose-Hulman will host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 30-May 1, at Cook Stadium.
