Men's Track & Field Wins Hanover Invitational

HANOVER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team picked up a victory at the Hanover Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Fightin' Engineers scored 109 points to take home top honors, defeating Hanover (87), Manchester (82) and Franklin (57) in the meet.

Rose-Hulman student-athletes combined for three event victories and seven runner-up finishes.  Event winners included Jacob Back in the triple jump (39' 8 3/4"); Jacob Bird in the 200-meter dash (23.22); and Jacob Eve in the 400-meter dash (50.35).

The team combined for seven runner-up performances on Saturday.  Second place finishes included Back in the long jump (20' 1"); Bird in the 400 (51.98); Prescott Brackett in the 100 (11.67); Noah Heckenlively in the 800 (2:02.77); Aidan Moss in the 110-meter hurdles (17.70 seconds); Jonathan Timm in the 3000 steeplechase (9:51.84); and Aidan Woods in the 1500 (4:08.93).

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Wabash Invitational next weekend.  Today's team victory marked Rose-Hulman's seventh team win in nine meets this season.
