TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Franklin College relied on timely hitting to pick up a 6-1 and 6-4 doubleheader sweep over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in non-conference softball action on Thursday at the Engineer Softball Field.
In the opener, Natalie Weber and Abby Hickson had doubles and singles to lead the Franklin offense in a 6-1 victory. Alisha Burch picked up the pitching win.
Nicole Lang had a single, RBI and sacrifice fly, and
Ashley Pinkham added a single and one run to lead the Rose-Hulman game one offense.
In the nightcap,
Alexis Sullivan blasted a 3-run home run to turn a 5-1 deficit into a 5-4 tight game before Franklin picked up a 2-run victory.
MaKenzie Morgan had a single and a double, and
Gabrielle Davidson also had two hits to provide balance to the offense.Â

Reagan Knabe, Sullivan and
Katie Palmer all had one hit and one run scored.
Franklin improved to 10-6 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 7-10. The Fightin' Engineers are scheduled to return home - weather permitting - to face Defiance College on Saturday at 1 pm.
