TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team battled with Millikin University into double overtime, where the match finally ended in a 1-1 draw. Rose-Hulman now stands 1-2-1 on the season, while Millikin moves to 0-3-1.
Rose-Hulman took the lead on a strike from
Caleb Urban in the 20th minute on the assist from
Elijah Hardersen. This was Urban's second-straight game with a goal, bringing his career total to four. The Fightin' Engineers also outshot the Big Blue 24-14.
Millikin tied the contest in the 48th minute. They narrowly outshot Rose-Hulman in the two overtimes 6-4.
Evan Hofer led the defensive effort with four saves, and
Takezo Kelly had a team-high eight shots with four on goal on the day.
The men's soccer team finishes their four-game home stretch with DePauw University on Wednesday, September 15 and Albion College on Sunday, September 19.
