TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology scored eight first half goals and cruised to a 10-0 victory over Illinois College in the Grey Matters Awareness Game on Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Soccer Field.
The Fightin' Engineers scored in the 8th, 10th, 11th and 13th minutes to pull away early and scored all eight first half goals in the first 30 minutes. The team tallied 47 total shots on the day.
Sarah Shoemaker led the goal scoring attack with two goals and one assist.Â
Elle Vuotto led the passing performance with three assists.
Other goal scorers included

Lane Lawrence;
Christina Rogers;
Alicia Rodriguez;
Grace Hobson;
Kyra Hicks;
Sarah Shibuya; and
Kiana Martin.
In addition to Vuotto and Shoemaker, assists were credited to Lawrence, Hobson, Rodriguez and
Emily Maxwell.
Natalie Dillon recorded three saves and
Erin Canning had two as Rose-Hulman recorded its third straight shutout.
Rose-Hulman fans also combined to raise over $800 in the fight against brain cancer. All proceeds will be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
The Fightin' Engineers improved to 3-0 on the season, while Illinois College dropped to 1-3. Rose-Hulman travels to Knox College on Wednesday.
