DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team took down Defiance in three sets on Saturday afternoon. The Fightin' Engineers improve to 9-7 on the season and 2-0 in HCAC play.
Rose-Hulman started off the first set strong with a 25-16 victory with 12 kills in the first set. In the second set, the Fightin' Engineers hung tough and held off a Defiance comeback. They would win the set 25-23 behind 14 kills and 4 blocks. In the third set, Rose-Hulman cruised to a 25-9 third set win with a 0.391 hitting percentage in the set.
Megan Korte led the way with 10 kills for the Fightin' Engineers.
Allie Fults led the defensive attack with four blocks, and
Lily Ebright added 17 digs.
Elizabeth Canon also stepped up with seven kills and three blocks.
Rose-Hulman returns home on Wednesday night at 7:00 as they take on Mount St. Joseph in the Cancer Research game.
