TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team battled Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title contender Mount St. Joseph for four sets on Wednesday before falling 25-18, 25-27, 25-17, 25-14 at Hulbert Arena.
The Fightin' Engineers also hosted their annual Cancer Research Game for the Dan L. Duncan Foundation at the Baylor College of Medicine.  The Duncan Cancer Center includes the No. 1 ranked genetics program in the country, with a goal of personalized medicine.Â
Sophia Koop and
Megan Korte led Rose-Hulman with 11 kills each.Â
Sophia Harrison (26) and
Jillian Gregg (21) also crossed the 20-assist mark, and
Elizabeth Canon contributed eight kills to the offense.
Harrison had a team-high two service aces and also contributed 16 digs.Â
Lily Ebright added a team-high 24 digs for the Fightin' Engineers.
Mount St. Joseph improved to 14-4 and 2-0 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 9-8 and 2-1 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers host Transylvania in the National Girls and Women in Sports Day matchup on Saturday Oct. 8 at 6 pm.
