Men's Soccer Survives Bluffton with Brace from Jackson Seida

BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team returned home hit double digit wins with their tenth win on Sunday afternoon at Bluffton. The Beavers gave the Fightin' Engineers a scare, but Rose-Hulman would battle back in the second half to get all three points. The Fightin' Engineers improve to 10-1-2 on the season and 6-0-0 in the HCAC.

The Fightin' Engineers came out of the gate slow and Bluffton capitalized with a goal from Jackson Clark in just the 8th minute of the game. This goal was the first allowed by Rose-Hulman since their September 24 loss to Ohio Northern.

Bluffton would keep the pressure on in the 11th minute with another shot high by Clark. This would be the last shot that the stifling Rose-Hulman defense would allow.

On the offensive end, the Fightin' Engineers would only get off one shot in the first 34 minutes of the game. However, the Fightin' Engineers would outshoot Bluffton 16-0 in the final 56 minutes of action.

Just before the end of the half, Rose-Hulman scored a goal that was disallowed due to an offsides call that the team was not very pleased with. However, they would go into the half trailing for the first time since their season opener against Greenville.

The Fightin' Engineers finally broke the seal in the 51st minute as Jackson Seida slotted home the game-tying goal off of an assist from Elijah Hardersen

Then, in the 74th minute, Seida would get his brace off of a header on a cross from Tyler Eldridge to give the Fightin' Engineers a 2-1 victory.

Michael Trinh earned his second consecutive win in goal for the Fightin' Engineers.

The Fightin' Engineers will return home on Wednesday night as they will take on Franklin College.
