Women's Soccer Earns First-Round Bye in HCAC Tournament with 1-1 Draw

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team dropped a pair of points in the final minutes for the second straight game as Hanover found an equalizer in the 85th minute.

The Fightin' Engineers moved to 6-0-3 in HCAC play on the season with the team's 14th straight decision without a loss. The Fightin' Engineers clinched the #2 seed and a first-round bye in the HCAC Tournament.

The Fightin' Engineers were able to find the first goal of the game in the 41st minute of action. Kiley McKee played a ball into the box, Kyra Hicks flicked a header on to the foot of Kiana Martin who found the back of the net.

In the second half, it was all Rose-Hulman as they were able to outshoot the Panthers 9-3 in the second half of action. However, the Panthers were able to find the equalizer in the 85th minute after a missed clearance found the foot of Cassidy Lett who took a shot and Josie Dattilo followed up the rebound for the goal.

Natalie Dillon made 5 saves in goal en route to the draw.

Martin led the team in shots with three, and Camille Clark, Ella Johnson, and Hicks each added a pair.

The Fightin' Engineers will return to their home pitch on Wednesday night for the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament against the winner of Anderson and Bluffton. The Fightin' Engineers will be looking for their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019.
