TERRE HAUTE, Indiana -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team picked up a big three points following three second half goals. The Fightin' Engineers improve to 5-2-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in the HCAC while continuing their unbeaten streak to eight games.
In the first half, both teams went back and forth creating chances, but neither were able to consistently put them on goal as there were only three shots on goal in the scoreless half.
In the second half, the flood gates opened for the Fightin' Engineers.
Katie Choi got the scoring started just over a minute into the first half as she slotted home a shot off of a pass from
Alicia Rodriguez to give the Fightin' Engineers the lead.
Just ten minutes later,
Kyra Hicks, the leading scorer for the Fightin' Engineers, continued the scoring with a penalty kick following a foul in the box by Anderson.Â
Finally,
Kiana Martin got on the board with her second goal of the season off of an assist from
Kiley McKee.
Natalie Dillon and the Rose-Hulman back line recorded their fourth consecutive clean sheet, and Dillon picked up five saves in the win.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM as they host Earlham College for their Homecoming game.
