KENOSHA, Wisconsin -- Despite a career day from
Miles McGowen, the Fightin' Engineers fall to the Carthage Firebirds 75-68 on Tuesday night.
In the first half, McGowen led the Fightin' Engineers with 12 points and 6 rebounds, but the balanced attack from Carthage had nine of their player's score. The Firebirds went into the half with a 35-30 lead.
In the second half, the Fightin' Engineers were able to keep it close and cut the lead to three a couple of times, but Carthage pulled away and stretched the lead to 14 with just under four minutes to go. They would hold on for a 75-68 victory.
McGowen would lead Rose-Hulman with a career-day scoring 22 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, 7 of which were offensive. McGowen would also add a pair of assists.
Simon Blair and
Max Chaplin were each in double figures with 13 and 11.
Bradley Harden added 8 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
Three-point shooting was the difference in this one as the Firebirds came in shooting 24% from beyond the arc on the season. They shot 9-21 (42%) in the win while Rose-Hulman shot just 5-19 (26%).
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action following a break for Thanksgiving as they visit Albion College on Saturday, November 26 at 4:00 PM.
