GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team placed 2nd of 10 teams at the second DePauw Invitational, held Saturday afternoon.
Jailen Hobbs had a strong performance with two all-time top-two performances in Rose-Hulman history. Hobbs tied his own school record to win the 60-meter dash (6.95) and added the second-fastest 200-meter time in program history to earn runner-up honors (22.41).
Other event winners included
Kyle Brownell in the high jump (6' 4");
Tim Youndt in the triple jump (43' 4 1/4"); and the 4-x-400 meter relay team of
Isaiah Lilje,
Jonathan Rogers,
Parker Jordan and
Jacob Eve (3:34.72).
Hobbs had the day's lone runner-up finish with his historic 200-meter performance.
Third-place finishers included
Prescott Brackett in the 200 (23.00); Jordan in the triple jump (40' 7 1/2");
Logan McLaughlin in the pole vault (11' 11 3/4"); and Youndt in the 60-hurdles (8.75).
Rose-Hulman will compete in the HCAC Indoor Championships at Defiance College next Saturday.
