TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology made a late charge before narrowly falling 12-8 to DePauw University in college baseball action on Tuesday night at Art Nehf Field.
The Fightin' Engineers trailed 9-0 in the sixth inning, but scored four runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to close within 9-8.
DePauw added three insurance runs to secure the win. Â
Josh Mesenbrink led the offense with a single, double and one run scored. Â
Adam Taylor and Brett Tuttle each added two singles and two RBIs. Harrison FInch and Manuel Lopez each scored twice for the Fightin' Engineers.
DePauw improved to 14-15 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 19-10. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Wednesday night in another non-conference game at Greenville.

The Engineers kept the deficit at 9-4 before closing the gap further in the seventh. The Engineers were unable to get any closer, as DePauw added three runs to their tally on the way to a 12-8 final.
