DECATUR, Illinois -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology went on the road to Millikin and came away with an absolute thrashing of the Big Blue.
The Fightin' Engineers started off the scoring early with a goal by
Elsa King in the fourth minute of action. King's goal was the second of her career.
Then, without missing a beat,
Sarah Shoemaker continued the momentum from her two-goal performance on Wednesday by slotting home a goal just one minute later.
Lane Lawrence and
Lauren Marquardt each would find the back of the net before the end of the first half with assists from
Kiana Martin and
Kyra Hicks.
In the second half, it was more of the same for the Fightin' Engineers as
Kyra Hicks would grab two more goals in the first five minutes of the half.
After a Millikin goal, senior
Bri Camero-Sulak would step up to the spot and finish a penalty kick to score her first career goal on her 21st birthday.
Natalie Dillon and Lily Dore combined to hold the Big Blue to just one goal in the 7-1 victory.
The Fightin' Engineers will be back in action on Wednesday night as they travel to DePauw.
