GREENCASTLE, Indiana -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team takes home a road draw with DePauw and extends their unbeaten streak to four. Rose-Hulman moves to 3-2-1 on the season.
The first half of the game was controlled for the most part by the DePauw Tigers as they outshot the Fightin' Engineers 4-1. They also found the first goal of the game in the 34th minute by Annalise Grammel after a missed clearance.
In the second half, Rose-Hulman came out strong and with a vengeance as they were getting possession and seemed to be attacking for the entire first 20 minutes of the second half.
Eventually, the Fightin' Engineers got the equalizer with a goal from
Kyra Hicks in the 64th minute following a free kick from
Kiley McKee.
After a 74th minute red card from
Megan Foder, the Rose-Hulman center back, after a high kick, the Rose-Hulman defense had to step up in a major way, and they were up to the challenge. They held steady and maintained a draw on the road.
Natalie Dillon was great in goal for the Fightin' Engineers as she faced 11 shots and made five saves while only allowing one goal.
The Fightin' Engineers will be back in action on Saturday as they host Washington University - St. Louis in their Grey Matters Brain Cancer Awareness game at 5:00 pm.
